I'm a former computer designer in the Penrose school of skepticism regarding even humanlike powers never mind Godlike. We haven't a clue as to how to engineer such machines. Yah, we can make stuff do multiply accumulate real fast but that's not intelligence. Nor do we have intelligent software algorithms that just need more memory and speed. Think about this. A fruit fly does more and better real time 3-D flight manoever computations than anything we can build. It's not even a matter of speed as we can't build ANYTHING that can navigate on the limited 3-D surface world of Earth or Mars. We don't even have an idea how. Reality check time.
Why not ask about fusion or the cure for cancer? Both "real soon now" since 1960.
