Classics of Stellar Physics...
Hi All
I was reading about Helmholtz-Kelvin contraction of stars and was reminded of Hayashi tracks - the pre-Main Sequence evolutionary paths of collapsing protostars. So here's the original papers...
Chushiro Hayashi 1961
Chushiro Hayashi 1965
Chushiro Hayashi 1966
...cool what's on the NASA ADS.
Also there's Icko Iben Jnr's series of articles on stellar evolution that oh so many papers have referenced ever since, a series starting with this one (I think)...
Icko Iben Jnr. 1965
...which is an interesting read. Amazing how little has changed in these basic models in the 40 years since, yet how much more observational data and sheer computational grunt to back our modelling.
