I enjoyed the movie.
I got the movie confused with the book The Restaurant at the end of the Universe, which I had just read.
I thought Marvin was done well, If it depressed you I think you got it.
I liked the part about Zaphod thinking he was signing an autograph.
I thought the Zaphod character was a copy of a professional wrestler named Michael of The Free Birds.
I didn't like the way they ended it by recreating Earth but I suppose they had to have a feel good ending, "This has made a lot of people angry and been widely regarded as a bad move."
The Vogons were done well however they might have spent too much of the movie on them. "Too many notes"
1 "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is an indispensable companion to all those who are keen to make sense of life in an infinitely complex and confusing Universe, for though it cannot hope to be useful or informative on all matters, it does at least make the reassuring claim, that where it is inaccurate it is at least definitively inaccurate. In cases of major discrepancy it's always reality that's got it wrong."
In the case of this movie: Reality got it wrong.
1 Excerpt from the book The Restarant at the end of the Universe. By Douglas Adams.
