Who created the Creator?

And don't tell me he's eternal, or created himself from nothingness. After all, there's no reason space, mass, and energy couldn't be eternal, or have created themselves spontaneously. Space, mass and energy are less complicated than god must be, so its much more likely they materialized from nothingness, or have always been there, than for god to have done either.

I'm not saying there is no god. I'm just saying we have no evidence he exists, no reason to believe he does, and no way of assigning attributes or characteristics to him..

If there is a god, we have no way of knowing whether he still lives. God could be dead, or asleep, or retired, or off doing something else; after all, it is obvious he created a universe which requires no further supervision or interference from him.

If god still lives, we have no reason to believe he is omnipotent, eternal and omniscient. He might just be a highly advanced, but not divine or supernatural being.

If god exists, we have no reason to believe he is concerned about our welfare, or is even aware of our existence.

Even if god is aware of us, he may simply not be concerned about us. He may have better things to do with his time. I know I have bacteria living in my gut, helping me digest my food. As long as they are doing their job, I don't think about them much.

I'm not being facetious or disrespectful or flippant. These are important questions and they need to be considered. I'm just trying to point out we have absolutely no means of learning about god, so everything about him is sheer speculation, even the very fact of his existence.

I do know the universe is a very strange and wonderful place. It is a great mystery which I haven't the slightest clue how to solve. And I suspect if there is some Great Truth behind it all, I don't think I, or anyone else will ever find it. And if we do, it will be so strange and wonderful that the idea of a supernatural being who created the Universe, keeps it functioning smoothly, and rewards and punishes us for our behavior will seem as pathetic and absurd as the myths we tell children so they won't misbehave.
