Doug, you're confused
The US invaded Iraq because Saddam was a thoroughly evil man who had attacked all his neighbors, and after his defeats was still doing as much as he could to obtain more powerful weapons, and in addition was killing large number of his own people.
We could have been in under UN rules, and already out again with minimum losses under the State Department reconstuction plan, if the President had of not been manipulated.
The reason this course was not followed is becasuse Israel and its supporters (the neocon extreme) had another agenda, which they suceeded in foisting upon us, ultimately by means of espionage (Frankin).
