Suborbital vs aircraft -- wanna bet?

I'm willing to bet you $100, adjusted as needed for inflation, that when I retire in 2036, most of the traffic between NY and LA will still be carried on airplanes(*). In fact, I'll spot you that aircraft will carry at least TEN TIMES the traffic of suborbital craft(**).

(*) Airplanes defined as turbine-powered vehicles which rely on aerodynamic lift during all phases of flight.

(**) If travel has shifted so that neither airplanes or suborbital craft carry most of the pax (e.g., maglev trains in underground vacuum tunnels, teleporters), neither side wins.
