Arnold is having problems with the all-powerful Teachers Union regarding tenure reform and spending controls in CA. He has had some early success limiting the growth in state spending. Perhaps the stress of dealing with the liberal CA psyche has taken its toll on Arnold? I'll say one thing, Arnold has been far more effective combating ultra-liberals in his state than MA gov Mitt Romney (R) has been in his state. Perhaps the fact that Arnold has at least SOME other Rs in his state gives him an advantage over Romney in Democratic monopolized MA.
In marked contrast, GW Bush continues to grow govt spending rapidly, Carter style. Even factoring in the necessary growth in military spending, GW's spending habits are in contrast to the Clinton administration's comparitively decent record.
