I'm seriously interested in hearing from conservatives about this, less so than liberals who already get it. How do you folk manage to go on supporting a President and a party who continually betray you? Is it nothing more than the fact that they're not Democrats?

California is living testimony to liberalism run amok. Liberalism at the border, in the courts, and in the legislature has drop-kicked the entire state into its financial predicament.

Some liberals still haven't figured out illegal aliens don't pay the Calfiornia Franchise Tax Board diddly squat. In fact, they siphon the money out of the state and send it to Mexico to support large families done in by Catholicism. And what's worse, liberal judges decide to invalidate propositions like 187 which would slow down the hemorrhaging of money to care for the medical costs of millions of illegal aliens.

What happens when 15 illegal aliens are competing for 5 available low-paying, low qualification jobs? What happens to the legal residents who seek those same jobs? What happens to the typical average compensation for those jobs? And what happens to the CFTB income? What happens to the available housing? What happens to the housing costs? What happens to insurance costs? What happens to healthcare costs? What happens to the environment? What happens to the smog index?

I'll tell you what happens. #$%*! happens!

The whole salary/wage rate slides into the toilet. Houses which by all rights should be worth $150,000 are asking $500,000. Crime happens as whole neighborhoods slide into the abyss. Of those 9 or 10 illegals who couldn't find a steady job, a few work odd jobs for cash and await pick-up outside Home Depots and the like. Many turn to crime until they can make cash some other way.

The pollution increases as more bodies need cars to move around in. Smog is just a fact-of-life. Some growing up in CA today don't even know that that grey haze on the horizon isn't normal. Yet these things which are caused by illegal immigration are glossed over. Liberals actually managed to get "toilet to tap" passed in places like Orange County. When that thing goes active....wow. Living testimony to folks who have been forced to eat $%!@ by the "conservation" folks. It would pay to be an attorney in OC when the inevitable "accident" occurs and thousands get hepatitis or worse.

Liberalism is swell and fine when laws are enforced. When liberalism leads to the destruction of California, its once prized QOL, and the entire California landscape - its time to reign in the bleeding heart.

When Vincente Fox publishes a booklet to assist folks in coming here illegally and celebrates illegal crossing with its own holiday - it's WAYYYYY time to wake up.

California's problems are not bickering between Dems & Reps.

99.99% of California's problems are the result of a failed immigration policy, failed enforcement and failed leadership. That figure will eventually be matched in other southwestern states. As any good CA-native knows..."As goes California..."

The place could've been a paradise by the 21st century. Instead it is an expensive, unhealthy, overcrowded ghetto-in-the-making.
