True...

...but the area started out tilted urban "redneck-ish" and so the liberalization of the region will take a bit longer as a result. The churches here have more influence as well so the "Calizonians" will create a perfect balance.

One meets new bright refugees daily from all over. ;-) Each seems to have a story to tell.

California's problems are largely created by simple numbers. OC & San Diego were diluted down by ex-Angelenos and are now quasi-conservative at best. They started electing leftists to the state assembly and have been paying for it since. One has to spend three times as much just to sustain 80% of the QOL one had in CA two decades ago.

Living in CA slowly got claustrophobic. Ones perimeter of travel shrunk greatly between 1990 and 2000. Realistically living in a beautiful home means nothing if it takes one an hour just to get downtown and another hour to get back when it used to take 15 minutes.

We'll have another million Calizonians added in about 3 years. Boom time here will last till about 2012. From 2012-2020 will be the decisive years. A big factor will be if we have plugged the gaping hole in our borders or changed immigration/citizenship laws. Bush gets a D- in that regard. If Arnold gets some traction and performs a miracle in CA it will help slow the exodus, which would be good as well, allowing time to build the infrastructure and finish two freeway projects.

Tax dollars that used to go to the CFTB are now filling the coffers here. I've watched as streets get repaved every two years. Nice. Last time I saw that was in Lake Forest, OC around 1980. Constant upgrades, new streets, luxury home tracts, its pretty cool even thought is hot.

There's even been a billboard of Arnold downtown begging Calizonians to come back and do business with CA. ;-)

Once there are more liberal Calizonians than Arizonans and Conservative Calizonians combined then all bets are off and the focal point will likely shift again.
