Now, some of the militia are in the NRA, I'll grant you. But yer basic John Q. Conservative with his 30-30 against a MBT, - - - that's not fair.

Yer basic John Q. Conservative who's never, ever been shot at, with his 30-30, or Weatherby, or whatever, who has never faced a live target which could shoot back, against a trained person, would be something to see.

One of Charlton Heston and his ilks biggest jokes is that they think they could be effective against any trained force. Never underestimate the importance of training and experience against live targets which are also hostile. There is nothing like the rip of automatic weapons fire over yer head to make your previously omnipotent weapon suddenly seem pathetically inadequate.

The gun regulations which are the hallmark of a civilized society do nothing to impair self-defense.
