...coming from someone who routinely pillories the Catholic Church because of child sexual abuse scandals. Are you Defender Of The Faith now?
The Boston Globe published one op-ed piece from a guest editorialist, and this makes it anti-Catholic?
The Globe is known for and has been criticized for decades for an anti-Catholic editorial and news coverage approach. This is a typical Globe piece. Long time Boston area residents know this. I stipulate that the Globe's legitimate, well done coverage of the pedophile scandal was not 'anti-Catholic'.
Sure I've criticized the Church for its systematic enabling of gay pedophile priests. My criticism of that particular behaviour was earned and well deserved. I never suggested that the holding certain religious beliefs by Catholics or any others should de facto prevent the person from otherwise being approved for public office.
Here, the latest trendy issue is disallowing practising Catholics from the SCOTUS and next other positions of political influence. If some right wing wingnut proposed that faithful Muslims or Jews not be appropriate for whatever, the ACLU and every leftie would be up in arms.
