Everybody knows damn well what a "progressive" is, and why they keep having to change their name over the years.
People wondering for themselves are welcome to check out this little compilation I posted here last year. One list is from the Congressional Progressive Caucus, one from the American Communist Party, and one was from a "Citizen Agenda" that was being circulated at the time. I invited people to guess which was which.
You thought these were all basically swell ideas, although you had a problem with the "hate speech" bit.
There's more to this than labels, or whether somebody's wearing a hat with a red star on it. This is about ideas.
Look at it this way: there are no more communists. There are just a whole bunch of people who believe all the same things communists believed about how to organize a society, run an economy, and create a government free of any annoying political opposition.
As I said on that thread:
Every bird in that pen walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, and has the complete genetic configuration of a duck.
People can call them ostriches if that works for them.
