Taxing energy is a stupid idea.
Energy is the driving force behind an economy. Taxes on it trickle into every facet of the economy. There isn't a thing you buy that doesn't reach you via an energy source. From the bread in your kitchen, the sofa you set on, the tires on your car, or the shoes on your feet, it all took fuel to get it to you. Eliminate energy taxes and our economy would skyrocket.
