Mary Anne, you are neglecting the recovery.......

The Afghans have made a fantastic recovery and you are not giving this administration proper credit for the part our government played.

Look at agriculture. Under the pressure of the Taliban theocracy, Opium production was over 95% eliminated. Since the defeat of the Taliban, the Afghanistaniis have forged ahead and reqained their preeminent position as the world's leader in the supply of Opium.

Under US leadership, Afghanistan today produces 76% of the world supply. Mayanmar 18%, Laos 2%, Colombia 1%, and the combination of Mexico, Paklstan and all other countries 3%. And not only has Afghanistan re-captured their leadership position, but the quality of their product has as much as tripled

Historically the purity of Heroin sold on the street ranged from one to ten percent. Since the defeat of the Taliban and the re-entry of Afghanistan back in the market Heroin purity now averages 35% with a range as high as 98%.

Please don't neglect to mention the advances in capitalistic theory this administration has brought to the Afghan nation.
