I doubt that is true, but I suppose anything is possible. We would need to spend some serious research money before I believed that one...

Assuming it were true, then we would need to do something to shield out sunlight and create a reverse-greenhouse effect...

10000 years is plenty of time to prepare, but we would need to get started now. I think humanity would be capable of doing it. But it would take generations of effort.
