YIKES.
Are you under 5' tall?
1200-1500 calories is healthy and allows for some balance. 1200 isn't easy, because your body is still aware that it's not starving to death and hasn't made the metabolic adjustment to its starvation regimine. But if weight loss is the objective, 1200, with serious exercise, will do it. G r a d u a l l y.
Nutritionists are re-evaluating vitamin and mineral supplements, which may best be described as "better than nothing" at this point. Supplements may even disrupt metabolic processes designed to deal with organically obtained antioxidants. The best way to get your nutrients is through food. Eliminating refined sugar and refined flour products will knock calorie rates way down, but not to under 1,000/day unless that's most of what you're eating.
Also, some of the fat people consume goes to their brains, which actually helps brain function. (Skim milk is bad for kids because of that -- their little growing brains need the fat for their neuron sheaths.) So being a fathead is not all bad.
Proteins, fats, and high-fiber carbohydrates in suitable amounts add up to more than 1,000 calories/day. Even carrots have sugar in them along with that vitamin A, and raisins are chock full of sugar -- and iron.
Please talk to a dietician! Less is only more up to a point. After that, less is less.
Have a handful of nuts. Really.
