Agriculture springs to mind.
Of course everyone is aware of mechanized agriculture. But the effects of genetic alteration of seeds and livestock (something done on a small scale for centuries through selective breeding), irradiation of agricultural products, and the use of antibiotics on farm animals are other factors affecting production, quality, and spoilage rates of agricultural products.
We don't always see those kinds of industrial and technological applications plainly because they show up in the appearance and supply of activities and things people have been doing or consuming for centuries. Yet, potentially, new tech applied to old can be more far-reaching than brand-shiny-new tech, even though it's less visible.
