Since when do you set the standard?

Where did you miss the fact that Quakers are about changing things through positive action?

Where did you miss that Quakers don't chide people that are not responsible to them?

Where did you miss that Quakers believe in challenging beliefs of others outside their circle by providing a good example through charitable works and peaceful resolution of conflict?

Where did you miss that Quakers can and must demand that their elected officials stop doing things that conflict with Quaker ethics because their elected officials are answerable to them?

"Let there be peace on Earth and let it begin with them [pointing finger at the other side]" is wholly incompatible with Quaker ethics.

You are obviously not a Quaker. How dare you insist that your standards be used to measure their behavior when you obviously don't accept that their standards are good enough for them to use to measure the behavior of their, and our, government?

They don't live up to your idea of what a peacemaker is because they don't place blame on the other guy? Tough. When was the last time you went into a war zone armed with words? These people open up avenues that didn't exist before.

The next time you get up on your high horse about intolerance of public display of Christian symbols, remember your intolerance of public display of Christian ethics. Blessed are the peacemakers.
