re: Naive article, some issues for robotic vs manned

I think it wouldn't hurt you to reread the article without your baggage along for the ride.

I'm not willing to argue that ISS or any science in space can be done cheaper by humans unless you also mean on the surface of other worlds by space. A geologist can out perform any current or near future robot and that actual isn't my point anyway. What happens in AI is not material to my augment. The point was you don't project what will be available 20 years form now in engineering. Anyway, I want us to do the work not machine by themselves.

Yes, it cost more to send humans, but you get more science and fun for your dollars.

You are approaching the rudeness boarder with your remarks, Sawyer. You are to close to this issue and seeming upset by my words about school, etc. I didn't know your age and have a hard time understanding a human who wishes to avoid life/risk.

I don't expect more than one elevator being made and it is not the low end guesses that cover the true costs of such a thing. An SE will be in the hundreds of billions to build and take years to pay for itself. Nor is it clear it will be the cheapest method of getting into space.
