Well, you are very wrong. I was born in Bremerton Washington and live in Seattle right now. I'm currently the president of NSS Seattle and ask local speakers to our meetings and attend or work as a panelist many SF Conventions. If you know who has promoted SE then you would understand your error. A hint Liftport, Brad Edwards, Michael Laine.
As recently as September I heard the talks again and saw the demonstration of their tether robot model. I also had the opportunity to talk to space experts on the subject then (Henry Spencer and Dan Dubrick to name two) . You need to look for and read some arguments against the concept of an SE. Many people feel their costs figures to be very soft.
BTW, we also have had many visits from Tethers Unlimited's late creator and current CEO Robert Forward and Robert Hoyt.
