All things in the universe are possible
but thinking about things not in the universe, such as solving the mass and energy problems of C or FTL is no better than thinking that god will reveal himself and take us where we want to go in the palm of his hand.
IMO the solution is to make ourselves functionally immortal. This would break no known laws of physics and time/distance would be relative.
