re: Chicken Hawk

I was in the Navy but didn't enter service until I knew Vietnam was done for good. I figured there'd be a fairly peaceful period for a bit and I could really experience it as just a job.

Here's my point again. The article dissed Cheney because of his snide remarks against people such as Murtha when they don't fall lockstep in line with the Administration. Even if he doesn't directly call them cowards or treasonous, his snide remarks have that meaning and are intended to smear the dissenter. In this case it's fair game to go after his own supposed patriotism. When you open the gates of hell you'd better be wearing an asbestos suit.

I was never a major supporter of Bill Clinton but I don't remember, when he was pushing into Kosovo, him bruising his opponents by labeling them as weak-willed or cowardly. If he had, that same label of chicken-hawk would be valid there as well. Clinton was too smart politically (at least when his dick wasn't involved) to expose himself to the inevitable counter-attacks like that.

Cheney's looking more each day like a pit bull backed into a corner and he's making stupid bone-headed remarks. Even you should be able to see that Tom. Take the blinders off and stop throwing the conversation back to Clinton. Just cause some other president did dufus stuff doesn't make it right today ......or maybe we should start casting dispersion on today's Republicans because Herbert Hoover was an idiot.
