Judging by your library of posts here in the last 3 years, you have more than anyone I know invested in the outcome in Iraq.
Invested in Iraq, that's almost ironical. Do you even know why?
Yeah, I do. I'm a sane human being. I want Iraq to become a democratic and pluralistic society, showing that it can be done over there.
In the same way, I was happy when the Soviet empire fell and the satellite states had their own chance at freedom. Some have done better than others, but I've been rooting for them for years. I was happy when South Africa tossed apartheid out the window. I wish they would have tossed socialism after it.
I want the Muslim religion to reject its radicals, and return to the traditions of tolerance and learning of centuries ago. I want the Palestinians to chase Hamas and other terror leaders out of their territory and start learning how to live instead of die. I want Syria, Iran, North Korea, Zimbabwe, and others to find their way out of totalitarianism and into freedom.
Damn straight I'm going to be looking for good news. What does it say about someone who only wants to see the bad news?
My frequent posts on good news are probably the only places most of the readers here ever saw any good news. You think there's a shortage of bad news on these boards?
Balanced? As Rush often says, I am the balance.
