Think what you might about people like Bin Laden but the asshole hasn't stayed alive all these years by being a dummy. Bush proved to him right away that he could be played. We knock down your towers and you send off military to the Mideast. Bush sweetened the pot by playing up the whole fundamentalist Christian thing in the US while he was leading the charge against the evil Muslims. Terrorist leaders eat up on that stuff. Their cannon fodder are economically depressed religious fundamentalists who are easily led by the nose after being shown images of bloody war casualties and seeing their relatives blown to bits.

I would bet you a huge sum of money (if I had it) that if you could accurately count the number of Mideastern people willing to take up arms against the United States before the start Iraq war and after you'd see a huge increase.

Why in the world would the terrorists strike again? They got exactly what they wanted on the first one - Americans helping their recruiting efforts, wasting their economic resources, and the growth of religious fundamentalism within our own borders. If you're intent is a holy war, sounds like it's on its way.
