The Democrats and the media have done their damnedest to wreck this war. When 2006 and 2008 roll around, they are going to have to run on the record of having put as many obstacles as humanly possible in the way. If Iraq is in the toilet, that's going to look pretty good by then.
If Iraq isn't in the toilet?...well, we'll see.
Incidentally, in the actual context of this thread, I would dare say that one hell of a lot more Americans don't give a rat's ass about Valerie Plame than do. It was an artificially-hyped issue from day one, and once the possibility of the hoped-for legal results fade out, so will the issue.
