If we find something on mars that seems to have a relation to life on earth?

It could happen. It will be very cool when we have enough of a presence on mars that we can search for and identify meteorites that came from earth.

And to Jake: I think it would take more than not finding life on one comet to disprove panspermia (which I am not a proponent of - I just like good reasoning).
