We do have a great collection of scientists and engineers here, but we also have a great collection of thoughtful enthusiasts. The way I view it, EVERYONE-scientists and enthusiasts alike contribute to this place by posting the things they find interesting... or by posting questions... The scientists and engineers here also contribute by answering those questions - dont take their answers as gospel, maintain a healthy skepticism, but you can usually trust their answers.
The people that do NOT contribute are non-scientists with agendas- true believers that do NOT want to learn, or to have their agendas challenged by fact.
The fact that you are not a scientist should NOT discourage you from contributing here- in fact, it is for enthusiasts like you that this place really exists. Keep posting- don't feel insecure. As long as you avoid pseudoscience and anomalism you will have no problems here... In fact your contributions will be welcome.
Feel free to post, please...
