Health Insurance is an Oxymoron
I have two kids now whose health insurance consists of being in their 20s. This does not make me feel secure for their future.
Health can't be insured.
All they can do is make you pay less when you get sick. Health Insurance for healthy folks under forty is largely a waste of money. Of course this waste is what makes insurance comapnies rich and gives them ample wherewithal to pay for the statistically smaller group of older sick folks.
So I wouldn't worry too much. If they don't smoke... or drink to excess, they'll probably be in better shape than many with health insurance.
In much of Europe where everyone gets "Free" healthcare the youths in their twenties already learn how to become hypochondriacs. They have a list of real and perceived ailments a mile long and are addicted to various medications. They visit the physician too often, probably get sick more often, due to bacterial exposure in the healthcare environment and because of psychological weakness created by the ease at which they can consult a physician for everything from a stubbed toe to constipation.
The physical constitution of folks with health insurance is generally weaker than those who don't have it and who, by necessity develop a psychological block against illness - or simply live more carefully.
In a worse case scenario - if your children are hispanic, or adopt a hispanic surname they can get treated for free all over the US. In fact they will probably get better treatment than they would get under a "free" or "universal" healthcare system which will only turn receiving healthcare into a form of gambling - even moreso than it already is.
Health Insurance? Just another oxymoron. 'Universal healthcare' is Latin for ineffective, uncaring, no-liability misdiagnosis and treatment.
