re: About all those calls for "sedition arrests"

You would like to think that such unconstitutiuonal episodes would be behind us by now. Yet, the idea of passing a new federal sedition law is once again being bandied about in the right wing corner of the blogosphere. Under the banner of phony patriotism they claim a new sedition act is needed so that "enemies of the state" can be prosecuted for the traitorous assistance their spoken words give to terrorists. Enemies of the state like -- well, like Al Gore:

Although Steven D implies a huge groundswell in the right-wing blogosphere--consistently referring to "they" and "their"--as far as I can tell, the only example he's got down here is Ben Shapiro. Would like to see an example of Shapiro's "ilk" that Steven D refers to. Maybe Ben has a tapeworm.

Al Gore, along with Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton, have all taken cheap shots at the U.S. on foreign soil in recent weeks. The proper response is derision, and thankfulness that these people aren't in power, not arrest for sedition.
