I get a kick out of the posts here, but sometimes it's time to put the world in perspective for those whose awareness/attention span is limited.
It's too hot for a 'civil war' in Iraq. Look at the Iraq/Iran war and you see the style of fighting that lasts decades because its simply too hot to do much. In a month or two everyone will be hovering near the air conditioners for as many hours as the power lasts. Elsewhere they will not be putting out too much energy.
The Middle Eastern desert lends itself to 'set up a bomb and drive away' terror attacks - not massive physical exertion. Waging war is near impossible. Only revolutions, terror attacks, executions and such will continue.
There will be no 'civil war' as imagined only the same type of bloodshed we have seen (and see in MANY) nations - on a MUCH smaller scale.
The left are sheep. They complain about the right being parrots while they like automatons reiterate the latest left propaganda.
Let me be blunt. The left parrot Iraq casualties, 'bad news' and anti-US paid for propaganda as religiously as a 'rightwing' preacher espousing some 2000 year old gospel. 9/10ths of these same folks didn't know where Iraq was on the map in 1989. These same folks talk about 'civil war' and they don't even know what a real civil war looks like.
Ask ANY of em where the highest casualty count conflict is going on right now and they'll answer Iraq - just like the parrots the mods all have that you wanted to buy. They simply oh-so-enlightened left generally aren't educated or informed as well as they think they are. In fact, they get almost all their news from the short-attention span, money grubbing media.
The truth is Iraq is small potatoes. Let me give you a rundown of the REAL global hotspots - the stuff that only gets reported where it occurs because the rest of the world is too busy trying to poop on George Bush and hope they can ransack American wealth by some ill-conceived Democratic policy. pay attention. Class is in session. Here we go:
Congo: CIVIL WAR. (A REAL ONE) Casualties: 3 MILLION+ since 1998. Refugees: 5 MILLION. Humanitarian crisis: Off the charts. Massacres occur often right under the noses of the UN peacekeepers assigned to the region in 2004. Hutu rebels execute 100s of folks, rape 1000s more and the left are nowhere to be found with their oh-so-enlightened suggestions.
Sudan: GENOCIDE. Casualties:2 MILLION+. Refugees: 4 MILLION. Humanitarian crisis: Off the charts. More die here daily than 100 Iraqi terror attacks combined. The left care? Apparently not - because the US and George Bush can't be blamed easily enough. What's the UN done? Oh that's right...Jack...diddly...squat.
Liberia: REAL Civil War - 14 years worth. Casualties: 250,000+ Humanitarian crisis: Enormous crisis for for over a DECADE.
(Does the left care? Heck, be serious... the left doesn't even know where Liberia is!)
Burundi: ANOTHER REAL Civil War. Refugees: 550,000. 195,000 refugees have fled to Tanzania alone. Humanitarian crisis: for over a DECADE. Casualties: 200,000+ since 1993. (Burundi? Where's that?)
North Korea: STARVATION due to COMMUNIST REPRESSION.
8 million people are starving as I write this. Casualties: 1 MILLION+
(Left's take? Kim il Jung is bad...but BUSH is worse..cause he called him evil!)
And I could go on and on.
That's the brief lesson for today, class.
To sum up: Death on a vastly larger scale than Iraq will ever experience is occurring right now all over the world and you can't find a blurb about it on the news, the cover of time, reported by the AP, on Air America or in the political circles of the left. The left is far too busy lamenting the days in Iraq with genocide and UN financing of Saddam's weapon programs under Saddam...and religiously counting in the single digits the US casualties over the past two years which by any global measure are still negligible.
And to top off this effrontery, the oh-so-enlightened have the gall to call themselves humanitarians when they merely exploit 'certain' deaths for political power - just like the killers try to do.
The left scream into fits about Iraq and are literally so clueless as to what's going on in the world it is laughable.
And on and on it goes....
