"don't know"
It'll be a horserace, and refreshing to see two candidates who are both qualified for the job. Too often the candidates are so obviously unqualified that there's no point even discussing substantive issues and ideas.
The comments from Conservatives are fascinating. What is it with you guys? What do you have against electable candidates? Does every election have to be an uphill battle to overcome the repugnance of the electorate for extermists? Does it make the victory sweeter to force your candidate down our throats as, at best, the lesser evil?
What's so great about a razor-thin margin of victory? (Not to mention negative margins as in 2000) Wouldn't a landslide give you the mandate that, so far, you've only imagined? How do you claim moral victory when you have to fight so hard for that last hundredth of a percent to make a majority?
And how do you live with the knowlege that to achieve even that you've had to pander to the most toxic fringe elements of society? Wouldn't you just plain feel better about yourselves to see the marvel of a popular Republican President? I know it's a weird concept, but it could happen with somebody like McCain. You don't always have to piss off half the country.
It's kinda twisted to base your self-esteem on how many people hate your guts. I'd rather measure myself by my friends than by my enemies.
