(OK, so saying I knew McGovern is a bit of an exaggeration. I interviewed him for my high school radio station in 1972 and ended up volunteering locally. I met and talked to McGovern once.)
I hardly know how to respond to your post. Of course you hate Hillary, and the hardcore Right will always hate Hillary. But it's an amazing--nay, ridiculous--stretch to try and project that hatred on the general population. The polls don't support you, and there is the little matter of her proven ability to actually get elected. New York may be considered Liberal, but not so far left it doesn't routinely elect Republicans to offices at all levels. You seem to be forgetting Rudy Giuliani, ironically considered one of the strongest Republicans in 2008, especially in a matchup against Hillary.
But it's OK by me if you want to underestimate her chances. If your fantastickal confidence that we'll "see the worst wipeout since McGovern" is typical of most Republicans, she'll stroll right into the White House while you're reassuring each other how easy it will be to defeat her. "He whom the gods would humble, they first make proud." Go for the hubris!
