How you do that, I haven't a clue but the planets closer to the sun than Earth are the hottest and the ones farthest away are the coldest. I know that's a very basic look at things but I have this feeling that the single most influential factor in the temperature range of a planet is its proximity to the sun. We need to get the temps on Venus down first before any other step so we can get equipment to the surface that will last longer than a few hours.
Shading's an idea that has some merit but won't whatever shading devices we place between Venus and the Sun have such a large surface area that they'll be giant solar sails? I'd think it'd take a huge amount of energy to keep them in place.

I'm for moving the planet

- Terrafroming Venus
- Assuming we are able to engineer glow-in-the dark butterflys (or NANO Robots) that poop buckyballs
- re: Terrafroming Venus
- I'm for moving the planet
- What if we move a small comet into orbit of Venus and then spin it...
- Maybe nano-tech will...
- Move it into orbit around Earth
- Or Asterform it.
- Almost like a proto-Earth - Thea collision.
- But how?
- re: What if you put a cloud of mirco debris in orbit around Venus...
- I've put some thought into this. I think I posted on it....
- re: What if you could come up with a molecular structure that would cause a greenhouse in reverse?
- Not that far out of the box
- re: Not that far out of the box
- far out of the box
- reread my above post...
- What if you seeded the atmosphere with Iridescent material that gives off light when heated?
- far out of the box
- engineering planetary systems.

- Smash the planet Mercury into Venus?
- Almost like a proto-Earth - Thea collision.
- Nope
- Hit it with a BIG icy comet
- It does not seem like a good idea.
- Oh crap...I did it again...
