I just finished Stephen Baxter's "Ships of Times" only a few minutes ago over lunch. That guy loves the big ideas anyway, but this one not only is bigger than infinity, along the way he does a brilliant update of HG Well's "The Time Machine" based on modern physics. A really, really, classic work. I recommend it! Three thumbs up!
