Hi Tom

It's obvious! Mars is too cold and Mercury and Venus are too hot... so swap them!

I read recently that Mercury's orbit varies chaotically around an eccentricity between 0 and 0.47, and we already know Mars is chaotic too. A bit of tweaking and who knows?

Sounds kind of like Velikovsky's interplanetary billiards in reverse.
