For what we have spent on this war, here is what we could have done:

provided over 12 million 4 year scholarships to public universities....

give every child in the world basic immunizations for 83 years....

hire 4.3 million teachers for our public schools....

given health insurance to ~150 million children...

Other things we could have done...

built ~1000 keck telescopes...

done ~350 repeats of the mars rover missions...

done 76 Cassini missions

Oh well, none of those would have been as fun to watch on CNN as bombing people....

Here is what that 250 billion DID get us:

30,000 + iraqi civilians dead (conservative estimate)

2300+ dead american soldiers

17,000+ wounded american soldiers...

the mistrust of our allies

the increased recruitment of terrorists

the inability to commit troops against REAL threats...

Yeah, we got a REAL bargain....
