I don't blame Rush for getting addicted.

OxyContin is a powerful pain relieving drug and is very addictive. I do blame him for not seeking immediate help once he began feeling the grip of addiction. Maybe it was a gradual process and a sense of self-denial blinded him to it. But for someone so opposed to drug abuse, he should have been more aware of it IMHO.
