Ok, I think ... maybe

Someone geekier than me snorted, hooked the drive up as a slave, ran some sort of industrial strength program, found a hidden partition. Itty bitty one, but enough, whacked it, now system might run fine after I reinstall the HDD and OS. I asked him what was on it, to quote. "Boy, ya'll really don't want to know. But I hope yall ain't been doing any online banking."

Now I owe him, dagnabbit, hate owing him, he has a bad habit of collecting with a vengeance. He's the guy the local ISPs call on when they have a problem they can't solve.
