I had to let this sit for a week before replying. I've been busy but I wanted to re-read it and see if i agreed with your premise. And I do. And it was well written based on a calculated awareness of what really happened.
But can people be so blind in their beliefs that they can ignore GLARING impossibilities? The one I am talking about is going into a foreign country the size of California with millions of people who have a different language and different culture than ours? One that is desert-tested and ancient?
Going into Bagdad was a photo op for Bush and Cheny's ego, pulled off by the hubris of the military commanders. I find it incomprehensible that this administration THOUGHT they could go into this with the army they did and THINK they could subdue the country and win it's citizenry with firepower alone. Not only did they create a vacuum (which I could see coming thousands of miles away), but the SHEER ORGANIZATION of a project like that boggles my mind.
I, along with millions of others in the world, knew Bush was a born-again Christian and that he was willing to start the dreaded War in the Middle East because he (wrongly) believed God would protect us.....and him. The whole thing stinks to high heaven and I am appalled by the stupidity of the PNAC that put this together. Like giving a young kid a fast car with no training; there's nothing left but an accident in the making.
People, especially those power brokers in Washington have a lot to learn. Thing is, they engulf so many innocent others.
