Someone who immediately recognizes crap has obviously spent much more time wallowing in excrement than I would care to do.
You know, there is such a thing that can be called 'Simple fact', and there are some things that can be called 'Complete nonsense'.
I do not know why some people like to cling to the idea that all claims have equal validity and that it is closed minded to call some claims the nonsense that they are. If someone claims that a laser causes people to shrink and preferentially melts faces- Well, that is garbage... I don't need to give it any benifit of the doubt, I don't need to say 'well all beliefs have equal validity', I don't need to be sensitive to the beliefs of others... Garbage is Garbage.
Its good to have an open mind, but it is important to also have a rational, critical mind- otherwise you start believing anything... something we see all too much of here.
