Sounds like "I are an engineer" time...................

During the administration of Andrew Jackson it was proposed to eliminate the US Patent Office as being superflous. The engineers and scientist were in agreement that everything worth inventing had already been invented. Hey, that was a "simple fact." And to think otherwise "can be called 'complete nonsense." After all "Garbage is Garbage."

And, while we are at it, let's throw away the Bard of Avon who spouted such nonsense as "nothing is true but thinking makes it so." After all, this would open up even scientific fact to conjecture and we understand that shouldn't be done. No matter that science for two hundred years told us that dinosaurs were slow moving reptiles that were cold blooded. And then abruptly in 1960's turned around and said, no these were warm blooded beasties, more closely part of the bird family. We know the laws of science are fixed---pshaw!

The simple message to both R.L. and Tom is the one from that socialist, elitist Irishman George Bernard Shaw in his complaint against what passes for "common sense"----"It's so God damned uncommon."

My response was directed at that long list of names furnished, I think by ER, that posted the people that have been killed and where they taught, etc. Even though Tom is prejudiced against academics there is no reason to not investigate such a calamitous loss of professionals. To take the ostrich-posture that ingores the implications of the original post is silly.
