Hmm, Moonrush just finished.
Wingo advocates OASIS, wants by all means to avoid the Heavy Launch Vehicle...But that means rendez-vous at the space-station, then at L1, with numerous vehicles, dockings, fuel transfer....Those things have never been tested the way these missions would need them.
He also wants the Moon to be commercially attractive (PGM)....But are humans really needed anywhere in that infrastructure, knowing he mainly trusts the private sector for that?
I often wonder what those who propose "great ideas" to return back to the Moon or to go to Mars, give as reason but actually want something else: "We go to the Moon or Mars to settle??" Not for curiosity or science or exploration, no, but to settle....I don't believe that. Why must "to settle" be the main "acceptable" reason?
Are all other arguments that weak?
