Might be more sailing than walking

As Robert has mentioned, I think we underestimate the maritime talents of our prehistoric ancestors. Modern explorers, in the Kon-Tiki, Brendan, and other experimental voyages, have shown very ancient boat designs can cross oceans, and the Polynesians skills are well known.
