Classic example of a political thesis thinly whitewashed by a "scientific study" probably engineered specifically to get this result.

Once again I can't get at the original paper, but the author wrote an entire book on this subject in 2004, which implies that the current study isn't really new territory. His other claim to academic fame seems to be studies on badgers.
