One big mistake from 2001
Depicting the lunar mountains and overall surface as craggy and eroded like space
artists did going back over a century before. Even before the first successful probes
to the Moon, astronomers knew the lunar mountains were rounded and their sides
essentially smooth, but Kubrick went for the old Bonestell look.
BUt yeah, compared to so many other SF films, 2001 is practically a documentary.
Wait a minute - was there any noise in space in Dark Star?
Let there be light.
