At least Kubrick tried. Movies like Star Wars just say, "hell with it. Go for the fun." Tech bloopers don't bother me as much as glaring plot holes nowadays.
One of my favorite screwups in a movie that was pretty much one big screwup was in "Starship Troopers," when damaged space carriers in orbit actually start to "sink."
Anybody remember the original movie "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea," where an ice pack or something is blown up by an explosion, and the submarine is maneuvering frantically deep under the sea to avoid the hundreds of gigantic blocks of ice plummeting to the bottom?
