I'm fortunate enough to work out of my home, and have flexible hours, so I've been the "stay-at-home" parent for a lot of the time. The cook, the laundry guy, the Keeper of the Electronic Fever Thermometer, and the one guy at the youth theater costume planning group among thirty women.
This woman writes for a living, and has the same luxury I do, the ability to stay home with the kids and still make money. Her husband is a banker, and from other articles I've seen, they are quite rich.
I'll be content to agree with the Anchoress, who simply says this woman "does not live in the happy medium place."
But I have a hell of a lot more sympathy for single moms who have to work outside the house to live, and would saw off an arm for the ability to stay home with their kids.
