The US is over there, attacking a basically harmless Muslim country, killing, torturing and maiming. And the Rest Of the World knows it is for oil. Period.
(And the US can't leave until there is a government stable enough to honor the contracts the US jams down their throats.)
It would take a lot of London subways and WTCs to make up for the damage the US had done to Middle Eastern nations over the years.
Both what the West has done and the Middle Easterners have done is terrorism, and inexcusable. And the West is way, way ahead in terms of damage, hatred fomented, and so on.
