The largest fraction are forced to live in the West Bank or Gaza Strip

Most Palestinians are not free to live anywhere in Israel. They lost their property during various conflicts (and perhaps rightly so). And I suspect that most of the violence is a result of what Israel has been doing in the 58 years since its inception. To cite a couple of legal amendments favorable to palestinians in the last few years hardly makes up for it.

Even if the Palestinians brought it on themselves, I still think the ongoing trend in Israel is basically forced relocation, and that is one definition of ethnic cleansing. If they went so far as to slaughter 3.5 million Palestinians, well they would be as damned as the Nazis. So obviously they will avoid that.

Their basic strategy is very primitive: Fight, and retaliate, until one side either gives up, heads for the hills, or is killed. That's exactly what they are doing. They: both Israelis and Palestinians. And the rest of the world is sitting in the bleachers watching these animals fight to the death, cheering them on, and even heckling each other and waving their flags.

Personally, I'd rather see something else when I turn on the news each day. It's kinda boring after 30 years of the same 'ol crap.
