A very thoughtful and perceptive post, Robert. I'll be perfectly honest with you, I don't know if it was a conservative or liberal candidate or which party he/she represented; I was in the middle of something else and I didn't pay that much attention to it. But I must confess my initial reaction to it was pretty much the same as yours.
